A place with soul
We built a hotel. We ended up building a home.

How Penh House came to be
As Phnom Penh’s skyline began to rise rapidly, we chose another direction. Not higher or louder, but more thoughtful, rooted, and respectful of the historic district and the Royal Palace nearby.

Phnom Penh has always been shaped by water, movement, and quiet reinvention, a place where past and present flow together. Penh House takes its name from this story, not as a reference, but as a way of belonging. We are just a small place within a much larger narrative.

What matters to us
Penh House exists because we believe hospitality should be honest, rooted in place, built on respect, and delivered with care.

Locally rooted
Everything starts here, from the ingredients we use to the way we welcome people.

100% Independant
No templates, no scripts, just a way of doing things that feels right to us.

Embeded in a community
A place where guests, locals, and familiar faces naturally cross paths.

Sustainable
Organic sourcing, local partnerships, and small decisions that add up.

A different way of building
Behind Penh House is the vision of Dr Hay Ly Eang. He believes that Cambodia’s future should be built from its own roots.
After years abroad, he returned to a country rebuilding itself.
Not with ready-made solutions, but by working with what was already there: people, land, knowledge.
Through his work, from healthcare to agriculture, the idea remained the same: create value locally, respect ecosystems, and build something that lasts.
Penh House follows that same philosophy. A place that blends modern design with local materials, and global standards with Cambodian identity.
